“We consider ourselves young at heart and completely buy in to the lifestyle being offered at Wood Norton,” said Mr & Mrs Brown.  “We are delighted with our decision, and can’t wait to move in.”

Commented Paul Brady, village manager at Richmond Wood Norton: “There’s so much to think about as one approaches retirement, and our property and lifestyle day was designed to help people think through the many decisions to be made so they can enjoy life to the full.

“It was a great event with talks, presentations and demonstrations packed with thoughts and ideas on what will be available at the new village when it opens next year,” added Paul.

The new retirement village will feature a wellness spa with swimming pool and gym, hair and beauty salon, a library, activities and IT room, café bar, restaurant with private dining plus a 12-seat cinema, all set within beautifully landscaped grounds.

Drivers will be on hand to run regular scheduled shopping trips and excursions, while the activities team will ensure there is a wide choice of exciting and varied social events.  The company’s own on-site domiciliary care team will provide as much or as little help as is needed, 24 hours a day.

Richmond Villages, which is part of Bupa, designs, develops and operates premium retirement villages across the UK and is currently constructing its eighth village at Wood Norton, Worcestershire.  Due to open in early 2019, it will comprise 61 one and two-bedroom Village apartments offering an independent lifestyle, 46 Village suites (one and two bedroom) which come with a ‘hotel style’ package to help with all daily chores, and a 60-bed care home.
