Offering a quiet and peaceful location, the new retirement village will occupy the site of the former BBC training college, between the old riverside market towns of Evesham and Pershore.

The new £40 million Richmond Wood Norton will be within easy reach of the M5 and M42, less than 15 miles from both Stratford-upon-Avon and the city of Worcester, and a short trip to Broadway and The Cotswolds.  It will comprise 61 one and two bedroom Village apartments offering an independent lifestyle, 46 Village suites (one and two bedroom) which come with a ‘hotel style’ package to help with all daily chores, and a 60 bed care home providing nursing and dementia care.

A full list of property prices has yet to be released, but as an indication, Village suites will start from about £265,000 and Village apartments from about £350,000.  Sales reservations will be taken on the day but should you wish to find out more information, Richmond Villages has already opened a temporary sales and marketing suite at Suite 2, Tadcaster House, Keytec 7 Business Park, Pershore, WR10 2TA.  A marketing suite in the former Lodge House at the entrance to the development will be opening early next year.

The belief at Richmond Villages is that retirement should be enjoyable and safe, and a positive and active stage in life to look forward to.  Richmond Wood Norton includes all the facilities that have made Richmond’s other villages so popular, including a wellness spa with swimming pool and gym, hair and beauty salon, a library, activities and IT room, café bar, restaurant, private dining and residents’ lounge, and all set within beautifully landscaped grounds, terraces and mature woodland.

Richmond Villages’ own drivers will run regular scheduled shopping trips and excursions, while the activities team will ensure there is a wide choice of exciting and varied social events.

The sales launch is designed to provide information to those who might be considering moving to a retirement village.

“We want to give people a real flavour for what living at a Richmond Village is like, and ensure they get all the information they need across all aspects of Richmond retirement living,” says Paddy Brice, managing director.  “So rather than meeting just the sales team there will be themed areas where you can hear about all aspects of village life.”

These will include:

  • Review the retirement apartments available to purchase, and look at the floor plans including interactive CGIs of the village.
  • Activities and recreation, manned by activity co-ordinators from existing Richmond villages.
  • Wellness spa - information on what the spa will provide, examples of activities, treatments and details about the different exercise classes that will be available.
  • Hospitality – view examples of the sumptuous menus which will be served in the spacious restaurant and find out more about typical events, functions and private parties.
  • Care & support - members of the care team will explain the care and support that will be available 24-hours a day from Richmond’s own dedicated carers.
  • Meet the residents – people living at current Richmond Villages will be there to give their perspective on village life.

Commented Paddy Brice: “We know from the interest at our other villages that there is an increasing demand for what we offer, and are delighted that construction is already underway.  We very much look forward to becoming part of the community of Wood Norton and its surroundings.

“And in addition to these new homes which will help meet the growing need from the ageing sector of the community, this new village will create some 150 new jobs once fully opened,” he added.
