“Richmond Aston-on-Trent is going to be a very special place to live and will be unlike any other retirement development in the area,” says Alison Harding, the senior village advisor.

“Our new residents are mostly downsizing from large four or five bedroom properties so want good living space but fewer bedrooms.  Our village apartments offer up to 1,600sq ft of space with spacious living areas and one or two en-suite bedrooms.  The top spec fully fitted kitchens boast granite work tops, a Neff eye-level oven and hob, a Bosch dishwasher and fridge freezer, so very easy to settle in to from day one.”

The well-appointed apartments aren’t the only reason the retirement village has proved so popular with off-plan purchasers.  The facilities within the village centre building which opens next Spring will include a restaurant, private dining room, bar, café, resident lounge, library, activities room and a shop.  The village also has its own private wellness spa with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, gym, exercise studio, hair salon and beauty treatment rooms.  “Such luxury features have great appeal,” adds Alison, “and have proved a big attraction to our future residents.

“But it’s also the on-site services we offer that appeal.  Once fully operational we will have some of 150 people working here, including those in hospitality, housekeeping, reception and the 24-hour on-site care team.  Our aim is to help enhance the lives of our residents, so the level of attention and care will be extremely high.  Just as an example, we will have our own drivers and small fleet of vehicles providing regular trips for shopping runs, visits out to local places of interest, or for getting to local GP, dentist or hospital appointments.”

Like all Richmond Villages, there will be an interesting and stimulating social diary run by the village events and activities team.  Organised around the interests of the residents, these will range from bridge clubs to summer festivals, theatrical performances to waking trips.

Property prices for this next phase of apartments range from £299,000 to £595,000, and full information will be available at the launch or by speaking to the village advisers on 01332 895719.  For further information about Richmond Aston-on-Trent visit
